To confessions #570 and #573: I’m straight and also asexual. I didn’t even know what asexual was until I read the story Ace of Hearts, and the feelings Lacey describes in the story are exactly what I feel. I’m not in a relationship now because I haven’t met a guy that I 'click’ with as of yet, but I’d like to be once I find that guy, get married, and maybe even have kids. But what’s the difference between sexual attraction and sex drive? I don’t think I have either. Because some people that consider themselves aces enjoy talking about other people having sex, but I don’t. I don’t even like reading stories or watching movies where the sex scenes are too explicit.
Sexual attraction is about feelings you have towards someone else. You think they could make you feel sexual feelings in the right situation. Like, you think they’re good looking and you feel a pull/desire for them.
Sex drive is about how much/often you want sex.
It sounds like you’re sex-repulsed? That’s not the same as being asexual, but it is closely linked and there’s nothing wrong with that!
Sexual attraction is feeling attraction sexually towards someone else. Being asexual means you don’t experience sexual attraction. You can still have sex as an ace, it’s different from abstinence. Sex drive means how often you want to have sex.
