Viral food trends that make no sense

What are some viral food trends that make no sense?

For me it’s those Raindrop Cakes. Yes, they look great on pictures, but they are tasteless! They are made of agar and water which makes them transparent, so they can put fruits in the middle of it or have some decoration around it. But why have a great-looking dessert but no taste? :joy:

But they look so pretty! I definitely think taste is more important, though

But I like it. Well, when it’s a plain doughnut and has no sugarcoating or filling

It’s not a trend but it’s new and there’s a big hype about it where I live even though it looks disgusting

I hear a lot of my friends talk about Mochi :eyes:

I’ve tried it and personally I don’t really like it, too dry for me :confounded:
Or maybe they taste better when they’re fresh? Hmm

I love mochi. Yeah, it’s dry, but I don’t care. I think it’s supposed to be like that.
